The Vista Murrieta Broncos''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 30-21 to Long Beach Poly.
Bryson Beaver threw for 82 yards and a touchdown. Brody Guinn was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Alexander Vega rushed for 34 yards.
Darius Curry was his usual excellent self, throwing for 285 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground.
Vista Murrieta's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 6-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Long Beach Poly, Roosevelt, and Centennial. As for Long Beach Poly, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Vista Murrieta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Long Beach Poly will head out on the road to face off against Servite at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Servite is ranked 21st, while Long Beach Poly is ranked 18th).
