Meade County is 8-2 against Hancock County since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Green Waves will welcome the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Meade County has three straight victories, Hancock County has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Meade County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Elizabethtown by a score of 3-0.

Ethan Jolly looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

On the hitting side, Meade County's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austyn Stansbury, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meade County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hancock County's offense. They came up short against Heritage Hills on Wednesday, falling 11-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 6, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Hancock County also got a good showing from Hunter Greathouse, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Greathouse has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Meade County's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Hancock County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Meade County beat Hancock County 6-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Green Waves repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
