Baseball Game Preview: Herriman Mustangs vs. Bingham Miners

For the second straight game, Herriman will face off against Bingham. The Mustangs will square off against the Miners at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Herriman took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bingham, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Miners on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since March 28th.

Herriman let Carson Jones and Kayson Thomas run wild. Jones went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Thomas went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Thomas has become a key player for Herriman: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-12 otherwise.

Herriman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 4-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Bingham dropped their record down to 16-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Herriman, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.
