The Florence Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-29 to Johnson City. Florence lost against Johnson City in their previous head to head two weeks ago, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-36 score last time.
Johnson City was led to victory by Aiden Fulton and Johnny Slawinski. Fulton dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Slawinski scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The match was Slawinski's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kp Coble, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Florence's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Johnson City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-6.
Florence will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Marion at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th. Marion presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Florence in Texas (Marion is ranked 669th, while Florence is ranked 1496th). As for Johnson City, they will play host again and welcome Bracken Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
