The Nixon Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Mission Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Nixon barely beat Juarez-Lincoln the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Nixon never let Juarez-Lincoln get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Giulia Garza, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Juarez-Lincoln off the board. That's the most strikeouts Garza has posted since back in February.
On the hitting side, Nixon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jimena Ibarra, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another was Ayleen Guadalajara, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Mission never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cigarroa on Tuesday. They blew past the Toros 16-1. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 11 runs or more this season.
Judith Arroyo made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mission let Mia Flores and Breanna Longoria run wild. Flores scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3, while Longoria scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 4-for-4. Longoria also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Minu Cortez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.
Mission's record is now 6-8. As for Nixon, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 11-8-1.
Nixon couldn't quite get it done against Mission when the teams last played back in February as they fell 6-3. Can Nixon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
