They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Georgia Christian Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (63), Covenant Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
Covenant Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Fleck, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Fleck pulled down eight or more rebounds. Joshua Craig was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Covenant Christian Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
North Georgia Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Beaver, who scored 30 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Beaver has scored at least 25% of North Georgia Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Armour, who scored 19 points.
Covenant Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for North Georgia Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Christian Academy will take on Friendship Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
