The Boswell Pioneers will challenge the Aledo Bearcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Boswell's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on North Crowley with a sharp 18-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pioneers considering their two-run performance the game before.

Layla David was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Dallas Rutter was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.
Boswell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Crowley only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Aledo's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's seventh consecutive shutout on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over Saginaw. The victory continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Rough Riders: they've now won eight in a row.
RYLEE MARX made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on KELLYN OVERTURFF, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was GRACE HEATH, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Boswell has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Aledo, they pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Boswell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Aledo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Boswell might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from Aledo when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will the Pioneers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
