The Colquitt County Packers waltzed into Tuesday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-34 victory over Deltona. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 19 to 4 on the offensive boards, as Colquitt County did.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Colquitt County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nyleigha Knighton, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Amira Walters- Smith, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.
Despite the loss, Deltona still got an impressive performance from Calise Chisholm, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Colquitt County's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Deltona, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colquitt County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cairo at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Deltona, they will head out on the road to face off against Seabreeze at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
