After flying high against the Liberty Lions last Thursday, the Barnegat Bengals came back down to earth. Barnegat was beaten by Manchester Township 68-28 on Tuesday. Barnegat was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-11.
Devyn Quigley was on fire for Manchester Township: she scored 30 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Quigley has scored at least 25% of Manchester Township's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zionna Short, who scored 13 points.
Barnegat's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Manchester Township, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Barnegat will head out on the road to face off against Central Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Manchester Township will be home for the holidays to greet Toms River East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
