The third road contest was the charm for the Franklin Academy Panthers, as they earned their first road win of the season. They enjoyed a cozy 62-46 win over Somerset Academy Central Miramar on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Franklin Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jayden Auguste and Joshua Petit certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Auguste scored 16 points along with four steals, while Petit scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Auguste has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alpha Hicks, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Franklin Academy's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3. As for Somerset Academy Central Miramar, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Academy will square off against Sheridan Hills Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sheridan Hills Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Thursday. As for Somerset Academy Central Miramar, they will head out on the road to square off against ABF Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
