Lafayette Jefferson is a perfect 4-0 against Muncie Central since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Bronchos will look to defend their home field against the Bearcats at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lafayette Jefferson lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Kokomo, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Bronchos were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Wildkats on Wednesday. The Bronchos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by nine runs or more this season.

Lafayette Jefferson got a great performance from Nate Hilsabeck as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Hilsabeck has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Lane, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Leyton Corbin, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Muncie Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over Blackford on Thursday.
Fletcher Kahle made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Kahle was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Logan Campbell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Emberton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Muncie Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Lafayette Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Lafayette Jefferson took their win against Muncie Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 24-11 score. Will the Bronchos repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
