The Franklin Patriots's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-48 victory over Churchill. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Churchill is ranked 656th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Mitch Cronyn, who scored 24 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Pittenger, who scored eight points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Churchill, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin will take on Glenn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Churchill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fordson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
