If the Calvert Senecas were riding high off their 52-24 takedown of the St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between Calvert and Lakota wasn't particularly close, with Calvert falling 51-35. Calvert has struggled against Lakota recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Senecas players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alyssa Rishty, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Rishty scored a full 40% of Calvert's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Rombach, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Calvert's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-4. As for Lakota, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvert will face off against Woodmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakota, they will head out on the road to face off against New Riegel at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
