The Thomas Jefferson Spartans won the last time they faced the Denver North Vikings, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Thomas Jefferson took down the Vikings 66-47. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Thomas Jefferson did.
It was another big night for Shane Curry, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Doren Sacha, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Denver North lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Aubuchon. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Diego Bueno, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Thomas Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Denver North, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomas Jefferson's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Fusion at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Regis Groff will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Spartans are ranked 77th). As for Denver North, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
