Terry Sanford is 2-8 against Pine Forest since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bulldogs will face off against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Terry Sanford came up short against E.E. Smith on Wednesday, falling 19-13. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Addison McPhail and Adyson Maples did some serious damage despite the final result: McPhail went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Maples went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Leilani Valai was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Pine Forest waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Savannah Winstead, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Green, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one run.

Pine Forest pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Terry Sanford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Terry Sanford has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .542. However, it's not like Pine Forest struggles in that department as they've averaged .521. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Terry Sanford might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Pine Forest when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
