Cedar Crest extended their losing streak  to nine  on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-13 in the process. They lost  18-3 to the Hempfield Black Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Black Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  17-0  two weeks ago.
As for Hempfield, they now  have a winning record of 7-6. Considering they have won seven games by more than seven  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
For Hempfield's part,  Rose Wendel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Wendel has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Chloe Diener was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with seven  RBI, three  runs,  and two  doubles. Those  seven  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Kiara Rodriguez, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Crest will head out to  take on Warwick  at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Hempfield, they will venture away from home to  face off against Governor Mifflin  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Black Knights are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on  a  six-game losing streak.
