It was a good run, but the Lincoln Leopards unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They were dealt a 73-43 loss at the hands of LaCrosse. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while LaCrosse is ranked 79th).
LaCrosse got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lee Holopirek out in front who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 5 assists. Holopirek hasn't dropped below 19 points for three straight games. Caden Morgan was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight assists and six steals.
Lincoln's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6. As for LaCrosse, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
Lincoln will be playing at home against Rock Hills on Friday. As for LaCrosse, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chase at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. LaCrosse is facing Chase at the right time seeing as Chase is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
