The Fergus Golden Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Malta 62-60. Winning may never get old, but Fergus sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kieran Netburn was a one-man wrecking crew for Fergus as he scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Netburn scored 15 or more points. Trajan Sparks was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Fergus' win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Malta, their loss dropped their record down to 13-2.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Havre the next time they take the court. Malta will head out to face Havre at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Fergus will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
