Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Oak Ridge War Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They and Tomball were almost perfectly matched up on Saturday, but Oak Ridge suffered an agonizing 25-24 loss. Oak Ridge lost against Tomball in their previous head to head back in September of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 38-13 score last time.
Tomball's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Koby Fosher, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown. Carter Noyes was another key contributor, throwing for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Tomball's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. In that department, Amare Gibbs was the leader with two sacks.
Oak Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Tomball, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
Oak Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tomball will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cedar Hill at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Cedar Hill will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
