Covington lost to Hammond on Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Lions put the hurt on the Tornadoes with a sharp 9-3 victory. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Covington's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-17. As for Hammond, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season.

Coincidentally, Covington and Hammond will both be playing Ponchatoula the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Green Wave at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tornadoes will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
