The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Piedmont Classical 79-37. Cornerstone Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.
Despite the loss, Cornerstone Charter still got an impressive performance from Tristan Cole, who scored 17 points along with five steals. Cole is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Knight, who scored two points along with eight rebounds.
Piedmont Classical found their leader in underclassman Cameron Anderson, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was La'Trel Smith, who scored eight points along with six assists and four steals.
Cornerstone Charter bumped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Piedmont Classical, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Charter will take on Bethany at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Piedmont Classical, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome College Prep & Leadership Academy at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. College Prep & Leadership Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
