The victory was just what Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North needed coming off of a 53-30 defeat in their prior contest.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North found their leader in underclassman Mason Lopez, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Lopez's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cruz Fabela, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North will be home for the holidays to greet Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against McAllen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McAllen presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial in Texas (McAllen is ranked 482nd, while Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial is ranked 1094th).
