After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chester, Shawnee was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the Meridian Bobcats. Addilyn Clark made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Madalyn Schuster was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Berkli Holtmann also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Meridian, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
