Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Times Squared Academy). They were the clear victor by a 98-76 margin over the Prout Crusaders on Wednesday. The Eagles have beaten the Crusaders the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Crusaders has come to flipping the script.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Times Squared Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Steven Garcia, who posted 25 points. Garcia continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Justin Urey was another key player, putting up 24 points.
Prout's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lawson O'Hearn, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds. O'Hearn's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Horne, who had 26 points.
Times Squared Academy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.7 points. As for Prout, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
Times Squared Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-52 victory against Achievement First Providence on the 13th. As for Prout, they will challenge Providence Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
