The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls will be playing at home against the Springstead Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wiregrass Ranch can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat The Villages Charter 55-14 at home. Given Wiregrass Ranch's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 136th, while The Villages Charter is ranked 319th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Luke Knight, who threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Ian Wilson ii was another key contributor, gaining 59 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Springstead didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Lecanto on Friday, but they still walked away with a 27-21 victory.
Wiregrass Ranch pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points per game. As for Springstead, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Wiregrass Ranch was able to grind out a solid victory over Springstead in their previous meeting back in September, winning 52-45. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Springstead's Connor Mccazzio, who rushed for 272 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Wiregrass Ranch still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
