Loyola moved up to 35 from 65 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Serra. The Cubs climbed the ranks as a result of besting Valencia 39-20.
Bishop Amat was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. Earlier in the week, the Lancers defeated Culver City 48-26.
Bishop Amat's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Koa Haynes threw for 373 and 4 touchdowns and Tyler Vaughns had 152 yards receiving. On the ground Trevon Sidney contributed 64 yards. Brandon Arconado helped Bishop Amat's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 83 yards.
He was 21-28 with 1 interception.
Haynes put up the best numbers through the air as Steve Hagerty's team bested the Centaurs. Haynes' favorite target this week was Vaughns, who caught 6 passes for 152 yards.
The Lancers' Haynes and Arconado have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Haynes has thrown for 1,769 yards this season, while Arconado has 26 catches for 473 yards. Chris Colarossi from Notre Dame leads the league in rushing with 724 yards.
The marquee game in Serra this week will be the clash between the Knights and Bishop Amat. Notre Dame enters the contest ranked 10th in the state, while the Lancers ranks 22nd.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Bishop Amat takes on kevin rooney's team. The Lancers' offense has recorded 256 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Knights have permitted only 122 on the year.
There should be lots of points scored when Notre Dame and Bishop Amat face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Knights comes in having scored 163 this season, while the Lancers have scored 256. Notre Dame scored 43 points last week as it fell to Chaminade.
Crespi lost to Vista Murrieta 42-2 last week, the largest margin of any game. Quentin Johnson ran for 47 yards in the loss.
