Given Schaumburg Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Woodlands Academy is ranked 485th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carynton Hobson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Schaumburg Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Bustamante, who scored 8 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Woodlands Academy had strong showings from Regan Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Dyana Santoyo, who scored 11 points. The match was Stewart's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Schaumburg Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Woodlands Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
