The Lewis County Lions pushed their score all the way to 67 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 92-67 walloping at the hands of Beth Haven. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (59), Lewis County still had to take the loss.
Beth Haven's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Ray Stinnett, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 5 assists. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jordan Harris, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Lewis County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Beth Haven, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Iroquois at 7:45 p.m. on December 28th. As for Beth Haven, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Thomas Nelson at 6:30 p.m. on December 21st. Thomas Nelson is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
