It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Hancock County Indians ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They slipped by Washburn 60-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Washburn lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dillion Mullins, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Billy Jo Wolfenbarger, who scored 15 points.
Hancock County's victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16. As for Washburn, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
Hancock County will be playing in front of their home fans against Washburn at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washburn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 105-43 defeat vs. Cosby on the 10th.
