The Montverde Academy Eagles put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Prolific Prep of Napa Christian with a 78-72 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Montverde Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Flagg out in front who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Flagg has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last 11 times he's played. Liam McNeeley was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Montverde Academy pushed their record up to 23-0 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Prolific Prep of Napa Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-4.
Montverde Academy will face off against La Lumiere at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in La Lumiere's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. Prolific Prep of Napa Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face D on February 4th.
