The Lewisville Lions stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 66-15 victory over Governor's School for Science & Math at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-3.
Lewisville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiyana Murrell led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Murrell is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Baker, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 assists.
The victory makes it two in a row for Lewisville and bumps their season record up to 12-3. As for Governor's School for Science & Math, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Lewisville will head out on the road to take on C.A. Johnson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. C.A. Johnson and Lewisville are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Governor's School for Science & Math, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lewisville at 6:00 p.m.
