After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Benton, the Cameron Dragons were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Richmond by a score of 40-30. Given Cameron's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Spartans are ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cameron found their leader in underclassman Isabel Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eme Teel, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Cameron's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Richmond, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cameron will challenge the Fighting Irish at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Richmond, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
