Basketball Recap: Nathaniel Riep's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oak Hills over Lakota West

If Oak Hills was riding high fresh off their 49-28 takedown of Mason last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Oak Hills Highlanders fell just short of the Lakota West Firebirds by a score of 49-47 on Friday. The match marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Oak Hills lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nathaniel Riep, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds. Riep is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Henry Maginn was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Oak Hills' defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lakota West, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
