It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Beauregard Hornets ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They snuck past Tallassee with a 44-40 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Beauregard also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Beauregard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Watson, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Watson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kelise Culbertson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Beauregard's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Tallassee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-7.
Beauregard will be playing at home against Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tallassee, they will head out on the road to face off against Lanier at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lanier is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
