Richfield Springs Central gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener back in November. They snuck past Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville with a 45-41 win.
Meanwhile, Franklin Central lost to Schenevus Central at home by a decisive 44-28 margin on Thursday.
Despite the defeat, Franklin Central saw an underclassman step up: Shannon Kingsbury scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Kingsbury scored a full 57.1% of Franklin Central's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Richfield Springs Central's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Franklin Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
