Meanwhile, even though Donovan scored an imposing 13 runs on Tuesday, Clifton Central still came out on top. Clifton Central had just enough and edged Donovan out 14-13. The victory was just what Clifton Central needed coming off of a 14-4 defeat in their prior contest.
Clifton Central also got a great performance from Sydney Jemar as she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off two hits. Jemar has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Emma Koch picked up the save, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
At the plate, Brenna Able was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayven Perkins, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.
