It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Hokes Bluff Eagles can now relate to. They fell to the Yellowjackets 52-46. Hokes Bluff was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Glencoe apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Alli Jo Amos continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Glencoe, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Amos has scored all season. Kinlee Montgomery was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Hokes Bluff has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Glencoe, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-9.
Hokes Bluff will head out on the road to take on Plainview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Plainview is coming into the matchup with 14 straight victories at home, meaning Hokes Bluff will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. Glencoe will take on Sylvania at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Glencoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
