The West Mesquite Wranglers will head out on the road to square off against the Spruce Timberwolves at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. West Mesquite is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, West Mesquite came up short against Adams and fell 58-48. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as West Mesquite came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Adams is ranked 759th).
Meanwhile, sadly, Spruce is still looking for their first win of the season after 22 games. They had to suffer through a rough 64-18 loss at the hands of North Mesquite. Spruce has struggled against North Mesquite recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
West Mesquite's loss dropped their record down to 22-8. As for Spruce, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-22.
Everything came up roses for West Mesquite against Spruce when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 59-31 victory. With West Mesquite ahead 35-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
