It was a good run, but the Carver Yellowjackets unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They suffered a tough 64-40 defeat at the hands of Bishop McGuinness. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carver in their matchups with Bishop McGuinness: they've now lost six in a row.
Carver's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Glaspie, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kejuan Bruton, who scored 11 points.
Carver's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8. As for Bishop McGuinness, their win was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.
Carver will square off against Winston-Salem Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop McGuinness won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Burlington Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th. Burlington Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
