Big Sandy lost against Hughes in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-58 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Big Sandy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bailey Berry. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Berry's third in a row with at least ten points.
Big Sandy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hughes, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Big Sandy will square off against Gleason at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gleason is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Hughes, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
