Basketball Recap: Riverton's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Riverton had lost three straight headed into Tuesday's game, but Faythe Stauffer didn't let it get to four. The Riverton Silverwolves came out on top against the Corner Canyon Chargers by a score of 58-46 on Tuesday thanks in part to Stauffer, who went 6 for 8 en route to 19 points along with seven boards and five assists. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Mulitalo, who went 9 of 17 on her way to 22 points and five rebounds. Mulitalo is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Randall, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Riverton's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-6. As for Corner Canyon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverton will venture away from home to square off against Herriman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverton is facing Herriman at the right time seeing as Herriman is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Corner Canyon, they will head out on the road to face off against Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
