The Southwestern Warriors waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past McCreary Central 59-39. Given Southwestern's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while McCreary Central is ranked 156th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kinsley Molden was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Acey, who scored 11 points.
Southwestern has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for McCreary Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pulaski County at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Pulaski County will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for McCreary Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Williamsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
