The Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles will take on the Pinewood Prep Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hilton Head Christian Academy comes in on nine and Pinewood Prep on eight.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hilton Head Christian Academy walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Pee Dee Academy 42-7 at home. Hilton Head Christian Academy pushed the score to 42-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Pee Dee Academy cut but never quite recovered from.
Dylan Clark was his usual excellent self, rushing for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while also throwing for 171 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes. Tyshon Mansell did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 97 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Pinewood Prep can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past First Baptist School, posting a 49-7 victory at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-7.
Hilton Head Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 First Baptist School and 3-8 Pee Dee Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 30.5% over those games). As for Pinewood Prep, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Everything came up roses for Hilton Head Christian Academy against Pinewood Prep when the teams last played back in October of 2021 as the team secured a 48-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hilton Head Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
