Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beaufort). They had just enough and edged the Whale Branch Warriors out 61-58. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Beaufort's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Whale Branch, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaufort and Cross will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Whale Branch, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hardeeville at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Whale Branch is facing Hardeeville at the right time seeing as Hardeeville is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
