West Laurens (Dexter, Ga.) grabbed the lead when
Garrel Quainton ran for a touchdown with 7:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Veterans (Kathleen, Ga.) 21-17 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead swaps.
After trailing 14-10 at the half, the Warhawks went ahead on a rushing touchdown with 6:00 to go in the third.
By the end of the third, West Laurens found itself trailing by 3 points as Veterans captured the lead thanks to one score in the quarter. VHS scored on a touchdown run in the quarter.
Quainton was the top performer for WL. He threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.

Johnny O'Neal, the Dexter school went into the matchup giving up only 12.4 points per game.
The Raiders got revenge for last year's 37-31 loss to the Kathleen school with the victory.
West Laurens (5-3) will play a AAAA Region 2 game against Baldwin next week, while Veterans (3-5) will take on Mary Persons also in a AAAA Region 2 game.
