On Tuesday, Osmond/Randolph took a serious blow against Cedar Catholic, falling 64-31. While losing is never fun, Osmond/Randolph can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Cedar Catholic is ranked 49th).
Osmond/Randolph's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Shearer, who scored six points along with five rebounds. Owen Severson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Osmond/Randolph has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Cedar Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Osmond/Randolph will square off against Niobrara/Verdigre at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Niobrara/Verdigre is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Cedar Catholic will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.7 points per game.
