On Saturday, the Thunder Basin Bolts faced the Sheridan Broncs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Thunder Basin suffered a rough 62-41 loss at the hands of Sheridan. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Thunder Basin has suffered since December 9, 2023.
Thunder Basin's loss came despite strong showings from Kambel Cox and Rylee Hudson. Cox scored 11 points, while Hudson scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Addison Rouse, who scored six points.
Thunder Basin's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Sheridan, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thunder Basin will square off against Campbell County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sheridan, Sheridan and Natrona County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Natrona County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wyoming Rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Sheridan is ranked eighth).
