Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wesleyan Christian Academy). They blew past the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers 17-6 on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the Trojans' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Mikey Papciak and Nick Papciak were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Papciak tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Nick pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Papciak went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Nick went 1-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two RBI gave Mikey a new career-high.
In other batting news, Blake Goff was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Loehr, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs.
The win got Wesleyan Christian Academy back to even at 11-11. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they dropped their record down to 5-18 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
