The Antonian Prep Apaches pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 76-61 to St. Michael. While losing is never fun, Antonian Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while St. Michael's is ranked fifth).
St. Michael's was led to victory by Bo Ogden and Aiden Disu. Ogden scored 24 points along with eight rebounds, while Disu scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Sugeeth Jinkal, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Antonian Prep's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for St. Michael's, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antonian Prep will take on St. Pius X at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Michael's will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hyde Park at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hyde Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
