The Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 70-56 fall against Eastern York. Lampeter-Strasburg lost against Eastern York in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-40 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Lampeter-Strasburg lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dean Herr. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. Chase Smucker was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Lampeter-Strasburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Eastern York, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lampeter-Strasburg will take on Hempfield at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern York is on the road again on Thursday and play against Brandywine Heights Area at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th.
